Mission
Statement

Mission Statement: St. Mary Parish comprises an area including Alexandria and surrounding territory. The parish serves approximately one hundred seventy families in the Diocese of Sioux Falls. We as a parish are constantly attempting to become a faith community of those who, believing in Jesus, proclaim God’s kingdom of love and justice, and share the mystery of faith by:

  • Participating in the worship of the Father, growing in faith and proclaiming the Gospel
  • Deepening our faith by celebrating the sacraments, participating in the liturgy and witnessing the gospel by sharing the good news
  • Promoting the idea of stewardship by sharing our spiritual and material gifts with our brothers and sisters for the benefit of all
  • Nourishing the faithful through strengthening our families, neighbors and community

We exist for the Mission of Jesus, who calls us to minister to one another and to those around us, not just as individuals.
